Click here   All of the Church of England’s bishops and archbishop have made a call for calm, amid escalating tensions around the language used by politicians, which they described as “not worthy of this country”.Although there has long been concern over the appropriateness of phrases such as the prime minister’s use of “surrender bill” in reference to the recently-passed Benn Act, the row over language came to a head in the Commons on Wednesday night, when Boris Johnson dismissed a plea for more moderate language from Labour MP Paula Sherriff as “humbug”.  The House of Commons erupted into a furore on Wednesday evening, as MPs pleaded with Prime Minister Boris Johnson to curb his “dangerous” rhetoric and stop using words like “surrender” and “betrayal”, which they said has contributed to abuse and even death threats being directed at them.One of the most acrimonious moments came when Johnson dismissed concerns from the friends of murdered MP Jo Cox as “humbug”, which elicited gasps and cries of “shame”.  A BBC executive responsible for editorial policy and standards has clarified the corporation’s decision to rebuke Naga Munchetty over her comments about Donald Trump’s use of racist language.Earlier this year, Naga made headlines when - during a live broadcast of BBC Breakfast – she referred to tweets Trump had posted, in which he suggested four Democratic politicians should “go back” to their home countries.  A man was soaked in flammable liquid and set alight on his doorstep in what police believe was a targeted attack.The 48-year-old is in hospital in a critical but stable condition after suffering serious burns at his home in Skelmersdale, West Lancashire.  They don’t give Nobel Peace Prizes to companies – not yet, anyway – but Japan Airlines has just taken a great step toward advancing the peace process.At least on plane flights. To avoid the subject completely would be foolish, even negligent. Our kids are more tech-savvy than any generation before them, and more than most grown-ups, too. Before I became a parent, I vowed to do (and not do) a lot of things. My daughter was going to be breastfed until she was one, and she’d eat all-natural, organic, homemade meals. She would never use a binkie and would rarely touch a bottle. Screen time? She would be limited to 30 minutes a day.Of course, my plan seemed fail-proof.
